You can expect to see 20 to 200 or more eagles in their natural habitat. The Bald Eagles migrate south from Canada and Alaska to find good food and clean water. The Skagit River, bordered by maple and cottonwood trees large enough to support the huge birds, provides the environment to suit their tastes.
This is a perfect occasion to observe and photograph these majestic birds in their natural surroundings. The sheer power and magnitude of the bald eagles is truly awesome.
Our personable guides are very knowledgeable about this area and the river. Many of them have been guiding this trip for 10 years or more and they fully enjoy sharing this wonder with visitors.
This 8 mile float covers the area where the most of the Bald Eagles can be viewed, the Wild and Scenic Section of the Skagit River.
Trip Times: Meet at 10 am, Rockport at Howard Miller Steelhead Park.
What to Bring: Camera, binoculars or video camera in a plastic bag. We can supply dry bag if needed. We will provide a snack but you may want to bring some extra!

On our exciting Secret Skagit Birding Adventure we'll meet you in LaConner (only a 60 mile drive north of Seattle or south from vancouver B.C.) and transport you to Blake's Resort on the Lower Skagit River. You'll meet with your naturalist, river guides who will treat you with tales of local history, spot a variety of birds, and take you on a voyage of discover through the Skagit estuary into the Swinomish Channel and the historic town of LaConner, Washington.

Since it is a leisurely float with no white water, it is ideal for families, groups and bird enthusiasts.This is our most productive river adventure to experience a variety of wildlife, Red-Tailed Hawks, Blue Heron, Bald Eagles and a variety of sea-birds. On occasion we witness river otters and ther marine critters.
You'll stop for a yummy picnic on Goat Island located across from Deception Pass where you can explore and climb to an abandoned Fort, a leftover post from WWII. A huge cistern is at the top of the island where a vast variety of birds visit on their migratory route to both bathe and drink the fresh water. We'll meander on through the channel and you'll disembark from your inflatable raft in LaConner.Stay and visit LaConner, or we can take you through the legendary and spectacular display of tulip fields in West Mt. Vernon. You'll view the beautiful gardens of tulips and many other floral species in bloom.
Please note that the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is an annual event which takes place in April. The fields are filled with flowers both before and after and still beautiful for viewing. On the drive to LaConner you'll pass several magnificent fields. We'll also include a short ride around the tulip fields during the festival. This is a wonderful trip for all ages, great for birthday parties and serious bird watchers!

We start out with an introduction to whitewater from Gooddell Creek to Copper Creek within the North Cascades national Park. Ten miles of majestic alpine scenery, crystal clear and cold glacier water with 4 exciting and heart-pumping rapids.
View wildlife, learn about the mining, the Native Indian culture and Seattle City Light's impact on this emerald green river. You'll experience four hours of history, scenery and fast-moving action. This white water adventure trip is a perfect outing for the family and is classified as Class II & III white water so it is good for ages 7 and up.
