About Red Cross

The American Red Cross Snohomish County Chapter

The American Red Cross Serving Snohomish County & Camano Island brings together local volunteers to care for their neighbors. Each year we respond to almost 100 local disasters, train nearly 10,000 residents in life-saving skills, and provide emergency communication between active military personnel and their family every 4-5 hours. With an office in Everett, we are here for the people, business and all communities in Snohomish County and on Camano Island.

How We Do It

Through the efforts of 8 full- and part-time employees and more than 250 volunteers, we provide:

  • Immediate, short-term disaster assistance for victims of fires, floods, earthquakes and other natural or man-made disasters
  • Community disaster education
  • Safety classes for adults and youth
  • Workplace preparedness and training
  • Emergency kits and supplies
  • International communication to locate family members separated by disaster or warfare
  • Emergency communication for military families
  • Project PRIDE energy assistance to county residents
  • The chapter also mobilizes local volunteers and resources to help respond to disasters across the nation and around the world.

History

Red Cross was incorporated in Snohomish County in 1916, and has served the county's residents continuously since then. Last year we served over 35,000 people.
